I am always amazed at how clear the water here you can see down perhaps 10 feet or so through the kelp beds beyond the rocks. This day by the camper in the distance, a group of masked friends sit in their lawn chairs chatting, while further down in a tiny rocky cove, a young woman and her boyfriend in full dress are taking COVID graduation photographs using Cadboro Bay as their background. Just beyond a couple beaches, a kayak built for two in a more secluded where we had spotted an otter sunning himself on the rocks.
A gaggle of geese swam around the point out by the rocks, making their way north past the family, exploring the pools at low tide. The two boaters, one coming and one going, talked of fishing and crabbing, work around each other’s boats and trailers. One in waders, the other meticulously avoiding the water by walking the beam of the trailer to crank the boat in, while the waders wife waits for a dry entry into the zodiac.
